A BRIEF PERSONAL BIO...
To start off with, my name is Doug, and I am very much of a Hulk fan in all of his incarnations (comic book, TV & the 2003/2008 theatrical movies). I first became aware of The Hulk when I was about 10 years old. This was when my Mother finally let me buy my 1st Hulk comic book. That issue was the historic Issue #181 (November, 1974), which was the 1st appearance of Wolverine. I still have that comic today, although it has seen better days. I started collecting THE INCREDIBLE HULK on a regular basis with Issue #226 (Aug., 1978), and haven't missed and issue since. I now have all the back issues to Issue #195 (Jan., 1976), so it's safe to save that I have quite a healthy collection. |

A BRIEF HISTORY OF "DOUG'S INCREDIBLE HULK PAGE"
Well, there's not much to tell. The "official birthday" of my Page is March 19th, 2004, with an initial domain registration of 2 years. I've been toying with the idea of opening a Web Page based on the Hulk for quite awhile before. With the purchase of a scanner in early March, 2004 (finally!!), I at last was able to put my ideas "OnLine". On September 19th, 2005, the 18th month anniversary of my site, I decided to renew my domain registration for 9 more years, giving me the rights to the name at least until March 19, 2015.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE INCREDIBLE HULK COMIC
THE INCREDIBLE HULK was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962. The 1st series of The Hulk came out in May of 1962, with Lee scripting and Kirby doing the artwork and the issues coming out every other month. This series lasted for only 6 issues, the last one being released in March of 1963. Artist Steve Ditko did the artwork for Issue #6 instead of Jack Kirby. For the next few months, The Hulk guest starred in various other Marvel Comics. In September of 1964, The Hulk then appeared in Issue #59 of a comic entitled TALES TO ASTONISH fighting Giant Man. In Issue #60, TTA was then divided into 2 parts/stories. One story was dedicated to The Hulk, and the 2nd story was dedicated to Ant Man/Giant Man (The SubMariner took over Giant Man's spot in Issue #70). TTA lasted until Issue #101 (March, 1968). In April of 1968, The Hulk's stories took over the entire TALES TO ASTONISH and the series was retitled THE INCREDIBLE HULK, continuing the TTA series count with Issue #102. This is why you will never find Issue #'s 7-101 of THE INCREDIBLE HULK from the 1960's. This "HULK" series lasted until March of 1999, ending with Issue #474. This included a "-1 Issue", which told a story of Bruce Banner's life before the TIH #1 of 1962. April, 1999, brought about Issue #1of a new series simply entitled THE HULK. This series lasted only for 11 Issues. With Issue #12, the series was again titled THE INCREDIBLE HULK. This series ended in December, 2007, with Issue #111. With Issue #112, it will be retitled THE INCREDIBLE HERCULES, and will follow the adventures of Marvel Comic's version of Hercules. In January, 2008, a new series was launched once more, simply entitled HULK. This series was started off with Issue #1. One twist is that this new, red "Hulk" that appears in this new series in not Dr. Robert Bruce Banner. With Issue #14, the story line of this series will follow the adventures of The Red Hulk, a.k.a., Rulk. In July, 2009, a 2nd Hulk title will be published, once more entitled THE INCREDIBLE HULK. This series will start with Issue #600, which is a combination of Issue numbers of the previous 2 "The Incredible Hulk" titles. This series will be published along with THE HULK, but will follow the adventures of Dr. Robert Bruce Banner, the original Hulk.
